I purchased Delta's 10-inch benchtop drill press last year and quickly learned that a drill press vise would be a must-have accessory. I first purchased a generic, "universal-fit" drill press vise, but it didn't fit the table properly. The mounting holes of the vise didn't align with the mounting holes on the drill press table. I returned the vise and decided to buy the appropriate Delta model vise for my press. Contacting Delta, this is the model they said would fit my drill press. Call the Vise Squad,

Does it work? Pretty well, unless you are wanting to bolt it down to the drill press it was made for. While you can twist it around to get a few bolts in, that is a compromise you shouldn't have to make. Delta screwed up royally on this! I don't own another (yet) to recommend, but if you have a choice - pass on this one.

Quick release is nice. BUT one of the two sides of the clamps is not vertical. If it was designed that way on purpose I don't know what's the advantage. Otherwise it's a manufacturing and QC problem. The unit is too heavy to be returned under warranty; most of the time it does not bother me.
