Whether operating a table saw, router, sander, or even a chainsaw, Tritons Powered Respirator is the solution! It provides complete personal protection for your lungs, eyes, ears and head. A filtered stream of air flows down the inside of the visor, supplying clean air for your lungs and keeping your face feeling fresh. Your head and eyes are shielded from airborne debris by a lightweight hard-hat, fitted with a high-impact, hinged visor. Hearing protection is also provided by high quality, built-in ear muffs which conveniently position away from your ears when not in use. The power pack is carried comfortably on a waist belt. Filters 95 of dust under 1 micron. Airflow rate is 5.3 CFM. Respiratory protection conforms to NIOSH N95 standards. The Triton Powered Respirator is not suitable for use against gases, vapors, chemical fumes or in explosive atmospheres (e.g. spray painting). And for all of you who have older units, all the accessories are backwards compatible.

As an avid woodworker who is very safety conscious and wears glasses, I find this product invaluable. Prior to owning the powered Respirator I had to wear separate, hearing protectors and respirator. For safety glasses I had to depend on my prescription glasses. If I tired to use safety goggles or a full face shield I was soon unable to see because of fogging. With the Triton powered respirator, all of the safety products are built in to one easy to put on unit. I'm fully protected and the supply of air over the face shield prevents any fogging. The battery pack lasts me for several days of woodworking since I only turn it on while operating equipment. Between operations, I shut off the air supply and raise the face shield which stays securely in place. The minor draw backs that I've found is that the pre-filter on the bottom of the battery pack becomes dirty rather quickly which does reduce the air flow. The unit performs its job very well, delivering dust free air in a stream across the inside of the face shield. There is only one design flaw, in my view. The battery is hard-wired into the device, allowing only about 4 hours of continuous use before requiring a recharge. A better approach, like with many battery-powered tools, is to use a battery-pack approach, and offer additional battery packs. That way, one battery could be recharging while the other is in use, affording almost unlimited "up time."

This is made in China so don't expect quality . It is all plastic , don't drop it ! It came partly assembled with one velcro hood fastener in the wrong place.
THE VISOR DOES FOG UP , it's a little fogging in front of my mouth on the visor.
I am a wood carver and I use a high speed rotary burr to carve and sketch with , there is a lot of dust. I work next to a high volume dust extractor but dust still gets airborne.
With the Triton hood on I did not detect any dust at all getting near my face. I know the filtration is good since the usual odor of the shop is cleaned before the air reaches me. I worked three hours in one shift using the mask and not once did I sense the odor of the wood or the dry urethane filler on...Read more
